Madison Laurel was born late Tuesday afternoon June 8th. She was almost 2 weeks overdue.

With the midwife, we decided to help labor along a little with a product called cytotec. Mommy was very happy to avoid pitcocin. We very much wanted a natural childbirth and besides the cytotec we acomplished our goal. My water even spontaneously rapured on it's own! Dad was a trooper and big help at the hospital. And big sisters are loving the new addition.

We are VERY happy to announce (to those of you that

don't already know) that Ben has started his first

full time teaching job. We thought we were

going to have to wait a entire year for him to be able

to get a job becuase of stipulations on his Social Studies

teaching license for which he is currently finishing up

someclasses, but we were luckily able to find a opening

at a near by high school. He is running the ALP

(Alternative Learning Program) We are very excited.

No, there is not currently any snow on the ground this is the photo from the website.

Yesterday we traveled to a small town in Iowa that has a job opening, so that Ben could give them his resume. the place is only about an hour and a half from my parents and we feel really good about the area.
We found the City park while we were there, it is very nice for such a small town. And the area is beautiful, it would be about a fifty min drive to church but really that is only another 10-15 min more then what we are getting used to here! And everyone is so friendly, I must have waved to over 1/2 a dozen people who where just walking by.

So even though we would love to find a job nearer to cousins we figure an hour and a half isn't to bad and since there doesn't seem to be any job openings around here at the time we would really appreciate it if you would all keep us and Paullina, IA in your prayers. We really look forward to finding a job and getting into our own little place again. We love my parents but yearn to be our own little family again.

When I was I kid I had really cool blocks. The were plain woodblocks, I think scraps that my Dad picked up when he worked making cabinets. Though these are plastic the general experience is the same. With the added action figures. Karrah likes to pretend to be a "monster."

The other thing we do is science time with Dad. Today we covered a few concepts using glass jars, a spoon, water and food coloring. I filled the diferent jars and talked about high or low pitch, then we added red to the high ones, blue to the middle ones, and yellow to the low ones. After that we just experimented with colors and playing music.

This was the girls first time really trick or treating, Hannah was sick last year and before that we only had done the trunk or treat thing. Hannah did really well with saying trick or treating!! She also got in a few Happy Halloweens. Karrah tried to walk in at the first few houses when people opened the door but got the idea soon after the funniest part was when people would let them pick out their candy Karrah always grabbed a little fistful!!!

Sometimes I wish I could be a kid again! Karrah was ecstatic to be covered with chocolate pudding. The smile says it all. This classic cameo was accompanied by the cutest little girl laugh; a soft chuckle followed by sucking in air with the perfect smiley eyes. It is easy to see past the mess. No duck squeezing Wal-mart camera operator (no offensive) could capture such a pure moment of childhood. Got to love it.

Ballet Class

I thought it was time to get Hannah involved with something, she needed something that would help her follow instructions, nursery only helps so much and since we are planning to homeschool I thought we better jump in to the extra curricular activities. Although I am not sure this is going to help her learn to sit still for sunbeams in January (poor sunbeam teacher)!!
Hannah had so much fun, I think her favorite part though was looking at herself in all those mirrors and hanging from the ballet bars(which I unfortunatly didn't get a picture of!)!! Sorry about the window pattern they made us sit outside becuase of "lack of room" even though it was a huge room before they split it in half with a partitioning wall which isn't a big deal it just didn't make for very good picture taking :) !!
In a class of 3-5 year olds most of them tended to do their own thing everyonce and a while but I am pretty sure Hannah was one of the youngest, even one girl that I thought was Hannah's age was at least a year older. She definetly was doing her own thing more often then the others.

But I find myself asking the question does this come from age or from personality?

I thought this was a fun effect for ballet class, I just figured out how to get the camera to do this while sitting there at the rec center. Oh and the others are a little fuzzy becuase I was having a hard time finding the kids and pets setting!!

Potty Training

I was starting to wonder if Hannah would ever potty train but low and behold I think we are almost there. Yesterday Karrah went in and woke Hannah up and the first thing Hannah did was to head to the potty. Granted her pull up was already soaked and I noticed to late to tell if she had actually put anything in the commod. But besides yesterday she has been waking up dry quite often as of late. And yesterday No accidents! I think the real test will be nursery on sunday. Wish us luck!!....now if Karrah would just sleep through the night....

Saturday we went hiking at Red Rock as part of Ben's Phi Alpha Theta(read History Honor Society!)activity, we got there a little late after leaving significantly early (long story) and Ben hadn't emailed anyone to let them know we were coming so they didn't wait, luckily Professor Holland(In answer to any questions : yes , his son) showed up with his three kids and we embarked on the following journey!

Saturday we went to the Clark County Museum and The Boulder Dam Museum to help Ben with his 451 Research Paper. It was fun and besides gas, fairly inexpensive. For both museums we payed $7, kids under 3 are free!! While not to horribly exciting, it was interesting. I have included a few photos just for fun.

ROBOT EARS

Let's start by saying that Hannah has quite the active imagination. She must get that from Ben because I am a bit of a realist. The other thing she gets from Ben is an interest in Star Wars and other such fictional things. Ben reads Hannah 2 books before she goes to bed each night, one of her choosing and then her bedtime book, which Ben now has memorized! Well the book she chose to have read to her last night was none other than Star Wars (they are a very condensed children's version that Ben just had to buy, before she was even born if I remember correctly) And then today we are getting ready to let her watch a movie and I ask which movie she would like to watch she promptly responds.. drum roll please... Star Wars. I asked her to pick another movie since Daddy wouldn't be watching it with her. So a few hours go by and I am working on a project at the table, Hannah is right by me but I am not paying attention, neither is Ben because he is doing some research for his paper on the computer. Then I hear her say "uh oh my robot ear fell down." I look up to see her version of Robot ears, it appears she has been in our bathroom again. Shortly after the picture is taken she tries to give sister Robot ears(we stopped her of course) and then the Robot ears realize their final destiny, the trash.

Okay so where do I begin? Let's see we will start with the computer. We wake up at

about 5:30 on a Saturday morning and realize that the power is out. About 8 Ben says

he has some bad news, he can't turn the computer on. So we call someone who said

if it was just the power supply in the tower it part and service would be 50 dollars

well it winds up we pay him 78 dollars and all we know is that the power supply and

the mother board are gone but the good news is the Hard Drive should be okay. Well we

could have spent over 200 to replace parts in the tower we bought in 2005 or we could

get a refurbished one from Dell that included Vista for 250 so we decide to get the Dell

now the problem is that we decided to upgrade the monitor while we were at it and

replace our old digital camera so we ended up spending "a little more" than 250!

Good thing that tax return was right around the corner! Okay but for those who

know anything about computers you might be remembering the hard drive with all

of our information(including but not limited to all of Karrah's pictures from birth on) on it

right about now. Well instead of paying another 78-156 dollars to pay the guy to come

back and retrieve that info for us Ben called in old friend into who helped us out.

His only payment required of us was to pass out these business cards for him. He is very reasonable priced (let's just say he doesn't charge 78 dollars and hour even if he is

only there 25 min) So please use him if you are ever in need. Thanks soooo much Mark!

Okay but that is only the beginning of this story let's fast forward now almost a week it is Thursday and I have endured(with no numbing whatsoever) a biopsy on my thyroid which involved 6 rather large needles being poked into my throat. Now I am preparing for our enrichment groups (not just you grabbing my keys and heading out the door kind of getting ready as I am the enrichment counselor) I am already running a bit behind because I must wait until Ben gets home with the car. When home I promptly kiss him good-bye and run with my sister-in-law to wal-mart to grab some cookies and yarn so that those who have come expecting a quilt would have something else to do to keep their hands busy since our newly called quilt committee chairman has been called on a mission with her husband to the Indian reservation at the bottom of the grand canyon! not to mention the fact that we have no idea what happened to the quilt frame that is supposed to be in the closet. I drive my sister-in-law home only to be flabbergasted as I am trying to back out and I can barely turn the steering wheel. I get the junker home and call Tanya (the relief society pres and Ben's 2nd cousin) to ask her to come pick me up even though she is already at church, luckily we live like 2 blocks from the church! Okay so I go to enrichment and enjoy making my new Family Home Evening chart(see photo, on the desk to the left of the monitor) Now I get home and Hannah has a temperature (yes again, if you have been following these post or just scroll down) In the midst of tending to Hannah, Ben calls Melanie Alvey who works with cars and had just so happened to bring her serpentine belt tool home with her that night. She comes over sees we are missing a pulley calls the 24 hour autozone but guess what they are out of stock so she leaves her tool and Ben has to skip subbing, the one day a week he can possible work for money, and fix it himself. Amazingly enough he does it! Good Job Sweety!!! But the check engine light is still on, like it typically is so he decides to have autozone run a diagnostic on it (thank goodness it's free) and we now have to replace the cyatalitic converter and we have an oil leak! Happy Day!!

Now fast forward with me again to Sunday we have just gotten home from church & and missionary correlation mtg, as we (when I say we I mean Ben!) are preparing lunch Hannah gets so excited that we are having Mac & cheese she decides to run in to the kitchen (to do what I have no idea) she runs into Ben and falls down. Ben is hugging her and comforting her but he then realizes that she is doing her no noise cry which basically means she is holding her breath but normally she eventually starts to cry as Ben realizes this isn't happening he is telling her(with emotion) to breath, meanwhile I am trying to tell him to bring her to me which he did and by the time he got to me she still isn't breathing but by now she is starting to go limp and her pupils enlarge ( my heart is starting to race again just typing this) not knowing what else to do I say "Ben you need to give her a blessing, NOW" so he proceeds not until he begins the blessing(without anointing, of course) does she start to cry and faintly cough. I really am not sure what I would have done had Ben been there, of course prayed and called 911 and meagerly tried to give her CPR( not necessarily in that order) but would 911 be there in time would I have seceded? I am so glad I have the priesthood in my home. We now know thanks to my mother-in-law (apparently my brother-in-law id the same thing) to blow into her face and thank goodness because she fell and did the same thing last night! The blowing worked, but it is so scary. Hannah you are not helping to lower my blood pressure!! We did some research on the Internet last night because we were getting pretty worried and I guess it's fairly common and doesn't typically mean there is any other type of problems and they say it isn't harmful to them(unless they never start breathing again) some kids do it when they are mad and don't get their way so far Hannah has only done it when she was hurt. Anyway they say that typically it doesn't mean there is any other problem but we will be taking her to the Dr to get it checked out now we just have to decide which one. She has a pediatrician that is listed as her primary care physician but Ben and I go to a family practice Dr and we think we want to take her there we just have to change it on the insurance first I believe. I know it sounds funny because you would think that the ped. would be a better choice because of the specialization but we have our reasons.

Did I mention that this is the semester Ben is preparing to take his GRE and has his 451 class which includes a 30 pg research paper! which is only a small part of the 15 credits (three of those credits is his practicum which represents more like 8-10 hours a week in class) he is taking along with an institute class and being the online journal editor of PHI ALPHA THETA (history honor society) Being in the elders quorum pres and on the Stake Choir that practices every Thursday night from 7-9 and preforms at every ward and stake conference plus a few other events.

This is 4 in the morning right after we got home from the emergency room

she had a temp of 104 at 12:30 so I took her it. The Dr. said it was viral and sent us home on the way home Hannah was insiting that she wanted Lunch!!! Needless to say I was exausted the next couple of days until Ben was able to let me go to bed at 7 !!!

Okay so these aren't the most flattering pictures but in my defense it was at the end of a long day. The real reason we traveled to Minnesota was for my sister Collette's baptism so the day started out with giving talks in Sacrament metting then after the block a potluck, traveling 45 min to the chapel with a font and this is after the baptism. So this first one is My mom Karolyn me Karrie Lynn and my little Karrah Lynn

okay so I am back tracking alittle bit I have been quite the slacker I think part of it was frustration from these post not turning out the same way I design them anyhow this is Hannah when we took a trip to the zoo this summer. She was fearless!

These pictures are from our 4th of July trip to Kanab Utah. We went to visit my sister Holly and her family who where vacationing there. The first picture left to right is Faith, Hannah, Eliza & Zadok this is them waiting for the parade to start. The next is our little patriot waving her flag (the parade clown gave her) inbetween collecting candy. We also went to visit the Coral Pink Sand Dunes as you can see Hannah was a little trooper. The only part of our trip Hannah didn't enjoy was the fireworks. Hannah would only say HOT as her cousins played with sparklers ! Luckily we hadn't stayed at the park when they started the real fireworks. We had gone back to Hannon's (Holly's husband who likes to pretend we named Hannah after him! LOL) parent's house to watch from the balcony. But that didn't last long, we had to go in the house once the real ones got started.

after the sand dunes we came back to the house to go for a swim and get all that sand off lol of course we showered off first! This is Karrah already to go for a dip, she loved it so much she took a little nap in the pool

Sat night I put curlers in Hannah's hair this is how it looked on Sunday. Soooo Cute! this picture also turned out so well for three reasons 1. She is just so naturally adorable 2. Ben took the picture!!! lol and 3.she has learned to "say cheese" and loves having her picture taken... so vain!

Well the holidays are over and we are back from our visit to MN to spend time with my family. This picture is Hannah overjoyed with her elephant. Some of you know she makes the greatest elephant sound. We think it may continue to be her favorite animal for years to come although it may have to fight for that title becuase she also loooves duckies!! (notice the PJ's, the pants are covered with ducks!!!) those were her christmas eve pj's. We decided to purchase them when she went crazy over them at Sam's Club! She also got a few small rubber duckies in her stocking!! I am now 24 wks pregnant and getting big for those of you that don't know it is another girl. An announcment about the name will come after the birth we have a couple we are choosing from. Now that vacation is over it is time to get back to work. Ben has already started to sub again and callings aren't going to be far behind. Ben's spring semester will start again on the 16th, after this semester he will only have a year of classes and then a semester of student teaching before he gets his bachelors.

HELLO WELCOME TO MY VERY FIRST POST!!!!!!!!

The current Green household is composed of myself, Benjamin, Hannah Lily and Baby #2 is on the way Due April @ 29th. Shortly after Hannah turns 2 years old. Benjamin is attending UNLV and has a mere two years of classes to go LOL!!!! I am currently the first councilor in the Young Women's Presidency and Benjamin is the first councilor in the Elders Quorum Presidency . Ben is also involved in the newly formed stake choir and is enjoying it thouroughly. Hannah has just started Nursery and is loving it completly she doesn't want to leave when I come to pick her up. We must be doing something right!!!! In other exciting news Hannah is doing much better with sleeping through the night, yeah!!! enough for tonight I need to spend time with my awesome family!!
